Volunteer to Mentor a Young Person in Surrey with MCR Pathways.
MCR Pathways is a national, award-winning mentoring programme. MCR Pathways was
established in 2007 to support young people, including those who are care-experienced or
have experienced disadvantage, to help them realise their full potential through education.
Mentors spend an hour each week listening to and encouraging a young person in their
school, helping them to build confidence, belief and self-esteem. Currently the programme is supporting almost 200 young people across 9 schools in Surrey, but we know there’s more to do. Can you help? We are looking for more mentors in the Spelthorne area.
The MCR programme supports organisations to fulfil their corporate social responsibility
objectives. It offers corporate parents and businesses across Surrey the opportunity to help our most disadvantaged young people succeed, whilst also offering huge benefits to the individuals and organisations taking part, including:
● Major skills developed in active listening, effective communication and relationship
building
● Increased wellbeing, morale, purpose and empathy
● Improved staff engagement, personal development and productivity
Organisations across Surrey are working with MCR Pathways to create a wave of positive
change, impacting our schools and communities. Will you join us?

Mentoring is incredibly flexible and can be adapted to fit around your schedule, an hour a
week is all it takes. Comprehensive training is provided by MCR Pathways and optional
ongoing training and development opportunities are available throughout the year.
