Internet Privacy…..how much are you worth?

Your mobile phone reveals more about you than you probably realise.  How you use both your phone and your computer leaves a trail of information that companies compete over.  And, those behaviours are physically changing the world that we live in today.

This presentation is nothing to do with GDPR, nor is it to do with Cyber Security.  This is a presentation about ‘privacy’.  If you’re unsure of the difference, then you need to come along!

Steve Coburn will walk through some of the ways in which companies such as Google, Facebook and Amazon are learning all about you; the tricks they use to get you to reveal more; and how they predict what you’re going to do next (and even manipulate you to do something different!).

This will be followed by Benjamin Ellis talking about how companies apply data science principles to use the information that they capture.  You will be amazed, and slightly frightened, when you understand more about the world that we live in.
