Gatwick Northern Runway Project Moves Towards Delivery
London Gatwick’s plans to bring its Northern Runway into routine use are moving forward following the dismissal of the remaining legal challenge to the project.
On 4 August 2026, the Court of Appeal dismissed the remaining challenge to the Government’s approval of the Northern Runway Project.
The decision follows the High Court’s earlier ruling in June 2026 upholding the Government’s decision to grant planning approval.
