Surrey County Council has confirmed that works to repair the road collapse on Godstone High Street are progressing, following extensive work to stabilise the underground mine workings.

Highways teams completed the filling of underground areas during April before the site was handed to Sutton and East Surrey Water for repairs to damaged water pipes.

The council thanked residents and businesses for their patience during what has been described as a complex and challenging incident.
