At Spelthorne Business Forum (SBF), we’re proud to spotlight and support local organisations making a real difference in our community. One of those is Surplus to Supper a charity on a mission to redistribute surplus food to those who need it most, instead of letting it go to waste.
They currently support over 200 community groups across West London and Surrey, including food banks, shelters, and schools but they need the help of the local business community to expand their reach and impact.
Nearly 50% of local businesses still dispose of surplus food
According to Surplus to Supper, almost half of local businesses are still sending usable food to landfill rather than repurposing it. That’s a missed opportunity not only for those experiencing food insecurity, but for your business too.

How your business can get involved
Surplus to Supper accepts:
- Shelf-stable or chilled products past best-before date
- Cancelled orders, seasonal or discontinued stock
- Items with damaged packaging or labelling issues
- Foreign language packaging or short-dated goods
By donating food that would otherwise go to waste, you help feed families and reduce your environmental footprint. All the necessary traceability paperwork and agreements are in place to make donations simple and compliant.
Why partner with Surplus to Supper?
- Make a tangible impact in the local community
- Reduce carbon emissions and disposal costs
- Boost your brand image through CSR and sustainability
- Engage your team in meaningful community work
- Strengthen community connections as a responsible business
Whether it’s a one-time donation or an ongoing partnership, every contribution counts.
