Dear Members
As I begin my tenure as Chair of the Spelthorne Business Forum, I do so with a deep sense of gratitude and renewed purpose. Many members will know me from my recent year as Mayor of Spelthorne, a role that offered a unique window into the heart of our Borough. I met business owners working tirelessly behind the scenes, innovators pushing boundaries, and teams who, despite challenging conditions, continued to deliver excellence. These encounters have shaped my understanding of the strength, resilience, and character of our local business community.
Today, as I take on this new responsibility, my focus is firmly on supporting you, our members, through what is undeniably a difficult economic climate. We all recognise that this is a challenging time for businesses. Costs are rising, uncertainties are growing, and the landscape is changing faster than ever. Yet, what continues to inspire me is the determination, innovation, and sheer resilience I see in our local entrepreneurs and business leaders. Spelthorne has always been a place where people roll up their sleeves and find a way forward and the SBF will be here to stand firmly beside you.
The Spelthorne Business Forum must be more than a platform; it must be a community where businesses of every size feel heard, valued, and supported. In the year ahead, we will work to deliver better connections, more opportunities for collaboration, and greater visibility for the outstanding work happening across the Borough. We will strengthen our partnerships, celebrate your successes, and champion the issues that matter most to you.
What I bring to this role is not only the experience of public service, but a genuine belief that Spelthorne thrives when its businesses thrive. I am committed to fostering an environment where every entrepreneur, every leader, and every team member feels empowered to grow and succeed.
I look forward to engaging with many of you in the months to come, listening to your ideas, and building a strong collective voice that reflects the ambition and talent of this remarkable community.
Together, we can shape a brighter, more resilient future for Spelthorne.
