Surrey Programme Helps High Street Businesses Reach New Customers
Independent high street businesses across Surrey have benefited from practical support to diversify income, improve visibility and adapt to changing customer needs.
The Surrey High Street Growth and Innovation Programme was created to support independent businesses across Surrey with locally tailored advice, workshops and mentoring.
Delivered with support from Smarter Society and The Retail Group, the programme helped more than 440 high street-based businesses strengthen their offer and find new opportunities for growth.

- One-to-one mentoring
- Business toolkits and resources
- Help with visibility, signage and customer engagement
The programme also highlighted real success stories, including Leatherhead Theatre, which used the support to explore new income streams and improve how it promotes its wider offer.
