Traineeships are a central strategy in the Government’s plan to match young people aged 16-24* with employers. The Chancellor recently announced a £111 million investment to future proof the skills of our young people and Brooklands College is in full support of this programme.

Employers have embraced this as Traineeships relate directly to required industry specific skills and to local employment opportunities. Brooklands College works closely with Local Economic Partnerships and Local Authorities in order to respond to the identified local economic and skills demand.

Our specialist Traineeships
Our Traineeship programmes combine industry specific experience with quality work placements where young people can develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes employers require.

Brooklands College offers specialist Traineeship pathways including:

Care, Early Years
Digital
Business Administration
and several more dependent on the demands of local employers.
Employer Incentives & Benefits
As part of the Traineeship each trainee will commit to a minimum of 70 hours in the work placement providing them with hands-on experience of the industry.

Employers can receive a £1,000 financial incentive for each trainee they recruit for work experience (up to ten trainees).

As an employer the placement can provide you with an excellent opportunity to give a young person an extended trial and to see their potential as a future employee.

Many employers have gone on to progress their trainees on an apprenticeship to further develop their qualifications, knowledge skills and behaviours or a position of employment.

Employers are fully supported by our Apprenticeships and Partnerships Team who will regularly check the progress of trainee/s on their work and will support employers with the assessment and performance of the trainee/s in preparation for work experience placements, helping to match young people with the skills your business requires.

If your organisation can offer work placements or apprenticeship/employment opportunities to people aged 16-24* years then please get in touch with us and our Apprenticeships and Partnerships Team will be happy to chat to you.

*19 to 24-year-olds, and up to age 25, with an education, health and care (EHC) plan
